Inhabited by creatures and figures in internal or physical tension, my work explores the balance between strife and harmony, transience and permanence. I feel that the ephemeral nature of our world, while sometimes causing hardship, also imparts meaning. That is more precious that may be destroyed; the delicacy of a butterfly is part of its value. It is paradoxical that we often desire stability, yet it is impermanence that determines our perception of meaning. Perhaps this is why nature is such a part of my work, with its balance of decay and rebirth.
Dreams fascinate me by illustrating the ability our minds have to expand, to accept new perspectives, and think beyond boundaries. In dreams our minds accept strange situations and experience them without questioning their impossibility.
