Encompass originated as a black and white comic published in Magic Bullet #16, about a Sisyphean hike encompassing a planetoid. I envisioned it in color and thought the textures would work well as a woodcut.

 When designing the woodcut, I retained the four panel structure by using four individual blocks, and inked each block in a unique initial color to indicate a different time of day or mood. Subsequent layers of transparent colors are then influenced by the initial color in each panel.

 Encompass is signed so it can be displayed in either vertical orientation.
